Lasting Power of Attorney fees are reduced from 1st October 2013
From 1st October 2013 the fee for registering a Lasting Power of Attorney has been reduced by £20 to £110.
At RDC Solicitors we believe that making a lasting power of attorney is an important part of planning for your future. It allows you to appoint someone whom you trust to deal you with your financial or personal affairs during your life time, in the event of the onset of a condition such as dementia which can mean that you lose the ability to make such decisions for yourself. The Government’s decision to reduce the registration fee is a positive step and shows that they are also keen to encourage the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney.
A Lasting Power of Attorney (or its predecessor the Enduring Power of Attorney) provides you with the certainty that if you do lose your mental capacity in the future your affairs can be dealt with in accordance with your wishes by someone that you trust and we believe that the importance of this cannot be underestimated.
If you would like to discuss the benefits of a making a Lasting Power of Attorney please contact RDC Solicitors and ask to speak to either Sarah Littlewood, Belinda Fox or Katie Hindmarsh.
